"The speech of a survivor from Hiroshima Atomic Bomb:
What Happened in Hiroshima?"
〜University of California, Irvine JSA presents〜

"The speech of a survivor from Hiroshima Atomic Bomb:
What Happened in Hiroshima?"
〜University of California, Irvine JSA presents〜
------------------------------------------
The Speaker: Ms. Kazu Sueishi
(American Society of Hiroshima-Nagasaki
 A-Bomb Survivors, President)
DATE: May 29th, 3:30-6:30

64 years has past since the explosion of the Atomic Bombs in
Hiroshima. What happened in Hiroshima at that time? Hear the tragedy
from a survivor and tell it to next generation.

On August 6th, 1945, the first nuclear weapon, an atomic bomb, was
dropped on Hiroshima. At this time, Japan was on the verge of
surrendering during World War II. Including the casualties in
Nagasaki, more than three hundred thousand people died in a matter of
seconds. Those who narrowly escaped death have struggled with the
memory of the tragedy and the aftereffects. Some survivors could not
disclose as they are the victims. The nightmare is too cruel to tell
and victims faced prejudice for others feared that they would become
infected or that children would inherit various diseases.

【Biography of the speaker】
Ms. Kazu Sueishi
American Society of Hiroshima-Nagasaki A-Bomb Survivors, President
Born in January, 1927 in the U.S. and grew up in Hiroshima. Ms.
Sueishi was a student at 18 years old, she was a victim of the
atom-bomb. She came to the U.S. at 21 years of age and got married.
Since 1972, she has given many speeches at several locations, hoping
for "PEACE" while struggling with the nightmare of the explosion. Ms.
Sueishi succeeded in bringing doctors from Japan to convincing them to
treat the victims.
*She will speak in English.
